Microparticle Synthesis (w/ Hollow Shell)

DESCRIPTION

The micrometer-scaled particles are spherical, contain a hollow inner cavity, and a solid outer shell made of PEG. The outer shell is porous such that there is continuous solution exchange between the inner cavity and the external environment. The pore size may be customized to control the size of molecules that can enter and exit the cavity.. The outer shell may also be modified to include functional groups if requested.

APPLICATIONS

Hollow shell particles may be applicable in fields such as diagnostics, glucose sensing, cell line development and tissue engineering. We can customize the particles for your particular application. Degradable motifs can also be integrated into the solid phase.
